The
Dasaprakash brand has been in the catering and hospitality
business since 1921. The group started from Mysore with a
restaurant. The founder of the company Late Shri Seetha Rama Rao
started expanding the group in the southern part of the country
with many Dasaprakash South Indian restaurants and hotels in
Mysore, Ooty and Chennai (Madras).
In 1972, Dasaprakash came to North India, New Delhi with its
first restaurant at the Ambassador Hotel.
Dasaprakash has had the honour of hosting various parties to
many dignitaries like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mrs. Indira
Gandhi, Mr. Moraji Desai, Maharaja of Mysore, Maharaja of
Trvancore, Dr. V. V. Giri, Prof John Galbraith, Mrs. Jacqueline
Kennedy and various politicians and dignitaries.

Under the efficient
management of Shri K. Seethrama Rao, Hotel Dasaprakash has made a name
as one of the finest residential hotels in the metropolis of Madras. The
moonlight Dinners arranged periodically are becoming increasingly
popular with the public. The management deserve to be congratulated on
the care and attention taken to cater to the public.

Mr. Seetharama Rao's pioneering effort at running a number of hotels to
cater for the needs of tourists deserves emulation. We should have more
hotels like Dasaparkash all over the country; for, that would encourage
